Maria Nika

Maria Nika holds a

  • B.A. in English and Greek Language and Literature, from the Department of English Literature, School of Philosophy, National Kapodistrian University of Athens.
  • Ph.D. in Educational Management: Teacher Appraisal Systems in Greece and England, Department of Philosophy, Pedagogy and Psychology, School of Philosophy, National Kapodistrian University of Athens.
  • She has received training in Education Management, Evaluation and English Teaching in a number of institutions: Bell Teacher Campus - Cambridge, National Centre for Public Administration & Local Government & Institute of Education- University of London, London Guildhall University, Lancaster University and The Polytechnic of Central London.

 Professional Profile

  • She is currently attached to the Institute of Educational Policy as a Consultant on the fields of Educational Evaluation and English language teaching. She is Head of the European and International Educational Policy Office of IEP.
  • She was attached to the Department of Evaluation and Training, Pedagogical Institute (2004-2008) and the Centre of Educational Research (2010-2012).
  • She has worked as an English language teacher at Greek public primary and secondary technical - vocational schools for about 15 years.
  • She has teaching experience in tertiary education, as an adjunct Instructor at the Masters Programme “Management and Organisation of School Units”, Alexander Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki (ATEI-Th).

She has participated in many conferences, seminars and workshops and has published papers in scientific journals and conference proceedings on subjects related to her research interests (mainly educational evaluation, educational management, teachers’ appraisal)

She has participated in the development of school textbooks for English Language Teaching in Lyceum and EPAL
