ΕΠΑΛ ΙΘΑΚΗΣ
The acquisition of the technological equipment, services and the respective educational-software programs (as all of these referred in part 3 of the current document), appropriate training and familiarisation of the teachers leaded to their implementation in teaching, adoption of a student-centered model by following a pleasant and interesting path that results in the best reaping of knowledge.
During this transition we faced some pedagogical and technical challenges/needs that intrigued some anticipated difficulties in the processing of the project which we overcame.
In more detail:
- Support means and resources: the involved teachers created digital resources to support the teaching process, used digital technologies for school-related communication and also open educational resources.
- Application in the classroom: adaptation to students' needs and especially of digital technologies, promotion of students' creativity, active student engagement by assigning digital learning activities that actively engage students, student collaboration by using digital technologies, interdisciplinary activities such as the active involvement of students in the use of digital technologies in the context of interdisciplinary work.
- Teachers had to set aside their traditional role, and act as mediators and animators in teaching practices using the appropriate, available and beneficial technological means and tools to achieve the objectives pursued. For this new teachers’ role, continuous training is a prerequisite in order to improve the teaching practices, but also to keep up with the new technological achievements.
In this way, teaching and learning gained an interactive way. The competence of the teachers – inspirers – helpers who teach and train their students, is necessary for a meaningful lesson.
